Mike Trapani - Freshman Coach
Mike Trapani enters his third season as the freshman baseball coach. Trapani previously coached at Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School where he coached for 5 seasons. Prior to that, he spent a year as an assistant varsity coach for Dover High School in Morris County. Trapani also coached the Bridgewater Senior Legion team with his brother, Brian.

Trapani is a Bridgewater graduate and served as the team’s leadoff hitter and centerfielder during his junior and senior seasons (’00-’01). Trapani received First Team All Conference honors his senior season and was named Second Team All County and Second Team All Area. BRHS compiled a 19-7 record during Trapani’s senior season, made the school’s first appearance at Patriot’s Stadium, and were ranked as high as #11 in the state.

Trapani played college ball at Fairleigh Dickinson University under coach Doug Radziewicz where he continued his duties as lead-off hitter and centerfielder. As a freshman, Trapani hit .328 for the Devils who compiled a school-best record of 31-9. For his efforts, Trapani received Second Team All Conference honors. Unfortunately, a major knee injury cost Trapani his senior season, but he still ranks in the top 5 all time at FDU in walks and is in the top 10 in stolen bases despite having only played 3 seasons.

Trapani graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and in 2006 with a Master’s Degree in Education. Upon graduating, Trapani taught a year at Dover Middle School before landing a job as a 7th grade Social Studies at Bridgewater Middle School where he has now been for 7 years. Trapani is currently single and resides in Annandale, NJ.
