Brian Trapani - Volunteer Assistant Coach
Brian Trapani enters his ninth season as an assistant coach at Bridgewater-Raritan High School. He was a volunteer assistant at the varsity level for two years under former head coach Scott Bray in '06 and '07, and the Freshman Coach from '08 to '11.

Trapani played at BRHS from '96-'99. In his junior and senior seasons he played varsity under the direction of long time Head Coach Norm Hewitt. Trapani played first base for Coach Hewitt, and was named all-conference his junior and senior year. He was also named 2nd team all-county as a junior. During Trapani's senior season he only struck out once in 94 at-bats. (His last at-bat)

Trapani continued on to play his college baseball at Rutgers-Newark University in Newark, NJ. Rutgers-Newark is a division III college that participates in the competitive New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). Trapani started at first base all four years there under coaches Stan Hyman and Mark Rizzi. During Trapani's final season he set the Division III national record for sacrifice bunts in a career. Trapani has been coaching for the past six years in some capacity. In addition to his BRHS coaching experience, Trapani was also the Senior American Legion baseball coach in Bridgewater for six seasons. His 2010 team won the Don Mattingly New Jersey State Championship and traveled to New Mexico to participate in the AABC U17 National Tournament. Prior to that, Trapani spent two years as an assistant baseball coach at FDU- Madison, located in Florham Park, NJ.

Trapani is currently a long-term substitute teacher in the Bridgewater-Raritan School District. Trapani received a Bachelors of science degree in Psychology from
Rutgers-Newark University in the spring of '04. Trapani earned his Masters degree in Special Education from the University of Phoenix, in Phoenix AZ in 2009.
Trapani is single and currently resides in Bridgewater, NJ. Brian's brother Mike is the Freshman Coach at BRHS.
